Ghanaian musician, Emmanuel Nana Appiah Boateng better known in showbiz as Nana Kontihene has expressed his deepest regret dedicating most of his time to build Kwabena Kwabena’s music career.
The ‘Aketesia’ hit singer disclosed on Hitz FM that it was unfortunate when he had to put his music career on hold for a period so he can push his fellow artiste to also gain recognition.
Having a good plan for a colleague musician, Kontihene said it was disappointing putting in same energy that brought him into the limelight into Kwabena Kwabena’s craft to earn him same high reputation but regrets all his positive plans.
“The disappointing thing was when I put my career on hold and focused on Kwabena Kwabena. It was a very regrettable state. I regret it because I didn’t get anything from investing my time and energy to help a colleague.
“I decided to help build Kwabena Kwabena’s music career because I wanted to create an empire but it turned out to be the opposite way. What makes it disappointing is you putting something equally important on hold to build similar thing and getting a bad result for it.
“Apart from him [Kwabena Kwabena], I haven’t helped any artiste again because I have regretted and learned my lessons,” Kontihene told Hitz FM
According to him, he penned most of the songs that made Kwabena Kwabena popular which he has learned his lessons.
Commenting on his music ‘Asesa‘ and how the media affiliated it to the CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah. He pleaded with radio presenters and Djs to eschew tagging his song with the Menzgold saga.
said it was rather unfortunate to hear the song spring up on airwaves after a long while and stated that he doesn’t like its affiliation to the ongoing events. He added that the song carried a different message.
“It is a beautiful song but it shouldn’t be played at this season since the Menzgold saga is a sensitive issue. The song had a different message and it shouldn’t be directed or twisted to make fun of customers of Menzgold.”
