Residents of Wassa-Akropong in the Wassa Amenfi East district in the Western region say they have been denied decent flow of electricity power for the last three months, because of a faulty transformer.

On the back of the prevailing condition in the area, the aggrieved residents have today staged a demonstration to bring to the fore their resentment over the issue.

One of the demonstrators, Nana Aduhene Kwarteng, who spoke to Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa FM 102.3, fingered a certain contractor working on the Bogoso-Ayanfuri road for their current predicament.

They claimed: “the contractor is not only discharging shoddy works on the road project ongoing in the area, but also destroying public properties in the area.

“We are tired of the troubles caused by the contractor, and we can’t contain it any more,” the incensed demonstrators bemoaned.”

According to them, although they have been able to petition the Member of Parliament for the area, Oppong Fosu over their sorry situation, he had delayed in fixing the problems.

“We have noticed that in this country, issues are better resolved with demonstration.”

The demonstrators say this is likely is to go on if their situation remains the same.
