NPP Member of Parliament for Efutu in the Central Region, Alexander Afenyo Markin, was last weekend arrested by the Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for his role in the alleged botched Initial Public Offer of state bank ADB.

Markin’s arrest was in connection with a petition to the CID by three persons belonging to the group Media Consult – a pro NDC unit.

The young Lawyer was detained for several hours and was subsequently granted bail to the tune of 500, 000 cedis with two sureties.

In several leaked tapes gone public, Markin, who acted as lawyer for one Mark Assibey-Yeboah in the case in which they were seeking to stop the IPO – is heard negotiating for funds to be paid to him – to soften his stance.
