The Ghana Police Service have stated that the two accused persons in connection with the attack on Tamale radio presenter have been convicted.

The Police, following investigation into an attack on a radio presenter in Tamale on 3rd May 2023, put before the Tamale District Court today, Wednesday, 10th May 2023.

“The two accused persons, Iddrisu Hardi alias Pagaaza and his accomplice, Mumuni Osman, on the charges of conspiracy to commit crime, assault, unlawful entry and threat of death.

“The two accused persons pleaded guilty to all four counts of charges and were convicted on their own plea, and subsequently sentenced to a fine of  Three Thousand, Six Hundred Ghana Cedis (GH₵3, 600.00) or in default serve a custodial sentence of 18 months imprisonment in hard labour,” the Ghana Police Service explained in a press release.

Following the convictions, the two duly paid their fines to the Court.

The Police further indicated that their faces have been shown because they are no longer suspects but convicts.
