Over 150 land guards have invaded Gomoa Okyereko community in the Central Region firing guns to chase away farmers and destroying their crops.

The residents have accused some opinion Leaders and politicians from Winneba bringing the land guards and use force to take their lands.

Speaking to Kasapa News, Yaw Boagyan some of the residents said several complaints have been made to Dominase District Police Command, Central East Regional Police Command, the DCE, Solomon Darko Quarm but nothing has been done about the issue.

They are therefore calling on the IGP to intervene immediately or they will mobilize themselves and fight the intruders.

Meanwhile, chief of Gomoa Okyereko, Nana Kofi Donkor revealed that, the land guards have graded over 200 acres of land and destroyed all the crops planted on it.

He wondered why land guards from Winneba are brazenly operating and terrorizing them when government has passed anti-land guard law.
