Editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, says the security agencies must invite suspended National Chairman of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Paul Afoko, 2nd Vice Chairman Sammy Crabbe and Klortey Korle Parliamentary Candidate Nii Noi Nortey for questioning in the wake of the raid on the party’s headquarters Monday.

According to him, as the police conducts investigation to establish who exactly was responsible for the attack, it is important that the investigative body also focuses on these three men who are known allies since they made certain interesting comments which raise eye brows.

Some unidentified personnel clad in army uniforms were reported to have stormed the party’s headquarters retrieving four AK47 riffles weapons and also taking away hard drives of computers in the offices.

While some believe the unidentified persons were soldiers, they are also thought to be person rented to cause mayhem at the place.

Nii Noi Nortey on the other hand reported of an attack on his residents just around the same time as the NPP headquarters was under attack. Items in his hall were ransacked in similar fashion as transpired at the NPP headquarters.

The suspended chairman Afoko then swiftly issued a statement few hours after the incident describing the incidents as dents on the party’s image.

“Reports of weapons having been found at the party headquarters is even more worrying. These developments are distasteful especially at a time Mr. Afoko is challenging the constitutional breaches some party members have persistently engaged in.”

The statement urged the security agencies to thoroughly investigate these incidents and get to the bottom of the matter.

Mr Crabbe jumped into the fray alleging that Mr Afoko’s residents had also been attacked; however the latter’s spokesperson Nana Yaw Osei denied the claim.

Then a day after, Nana Yaw Osei made a u-turn and in a statement said, Mr Crabbe didn’t lie about the incident only that there was difference in the use of words to describe the incident.

However speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo show Wednesday, Abdul Kweku Baako, stated that the chronology of events as narrated by the three men and their comments thereafter looks strange and must be investigated.

“These happenings as told by these three men appear very well choreographed. Fingers are pointing at them. That Nana Yaw Osei, Sammy Crabbe and Nii Noi Nortey must be brought into the picture in this NPP headquarters case. There is some integrity deficit in what they are saying. Listen to the interview of Nana Yaw Osei on Starr FM and see whether what they are telling is convincing.”

Meanwhile, an Accra Circuit Court has granted bail to the tune of GHC 10,000 to the 11 suspects who were arrested in connection with the raid NPP.
