Parliament has been compelled to abandon its decision to hold post budget workshop for MPs outside Accra as has always been the convention.

The House failed to agree on the venue for the exercise.

While the Majority insisted the program be held at the Rock City Hotel in the Eastern Region owned by Minister for Food and Agriculture Bryan Acheampong, the Speaker and the Minority argued the venue with value for money is the Volta Serene Hotel.

The NPP MPs insisted should Parliament settle on the Volta venue, they would not show up for the workshop.

Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin then asked the House to choose between going to the Volta Region and settling on the floor of Parliament for the program as had been crusaded by Buem MP Kofi Adams last week.

Majority leader Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu having read the room opted for the latter which was supported by his minority counterpart Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.
