The Member of Parliament for Effutu Constituency who doubles as the Deputy Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has donated to Winneba Secondary School and the Ghana Immigration Service in the Effutu Municipality of the Central Region.
He donated 300 school beds and many streets lights to the School.
At the Ghana Immigration Service Center, he donated brand new Air Conditioners, Office Tables and Chairs, laptops and other materials.
Addressing the gathering, Hon. Afenyo Markin said he remains committed to developing the Effutu Municipality till he retires from Parliament.
According to him, the Ghana Immigration Service at Winneba is doing a great job in the Municipality hence his support to the institution to enable it offer its best.
Hon. Afenyo Markin promised to provide a storey building office for the Immigration Commander which will be commissioned and handed over soon.
He promised to construct Children Hospital in the Effutu Municipality.
The Immigration Commander for the Effutu Municipality applauded the Member of Parliament for the kind gesture and hardwork he puts in to support the Immigration Service at the Effutu Municipality.
Presenting over 300 school beds and Streets lights to the Winneba Secondary School, Hon. Alexender Afenyo Markin said, apart from the donation of the Beds, he has constructed an ultra modern Assembly Hall, Girls Dormitory, Twelve Units Toilet facilities, six Unit Classroom block which is under construction, Facelift of the Winneba Secondary School during the Former President Kuffours era.
He then promised to donate laptops to all the newly posted Teachers in the Winneba Secondary School.
The Headmaster of the Winneba Secondary School Mr. Heyford Tetteh Mensah also appealed to the Effutu MP to support the school with Science lab, construction of the school roads, materials for the Home Economic department and new Building for the Home Economic department of the school.
According to the Headmaster, they are directing all their challenges to the Deputy Majority Leader because they believe in him and know he is the only person who can help them out of their challenges.
In response, Afenyo Markin promised to help them solve their challenges to ensure effective teaching and learning.
He then, advised the Teachers to stay away from politics of insults that may bring violence especially as we have entered an election year.
He also advised the Students to take their lesson seriously and stay away from social vices.
