Parliament is set to resume sitting today Tuesday, June 11, for the second meeting of the Fourth Session.

The Speaker, Alban Bagbin on March 20, 2024 abruptly adjourned the House after addressing a letter from the Presidency that cautioned against transmitting the Human Sexual Rights and Family Values Bill, popularly known as the anti-gay bill, to the President for assent.

But on May 3, 2024, the Majority Caucus petitioned the Speaker to urgently reconvene Parliament to address some important government issues, including the adoption of the Thirty-Fourth Report of the Appointments Committee and a motion on additional financing.

The reconvening of the House today follows a letter from the Office of the Speaker recalling the MPs from recess.
