Players of the senior national football team have visited the Nkrumah Circle GOIL Filling Station scene of last week’s inferno that claimed over a hundred and fifty lives.

Accompanied by officials of the Ghana Football Association, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the contingent also included the entire backroom staff of the team, and some football administrators.

The gesture as confirmed to Kasapa Sports this week by FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi, took place on the back of a donation they made to the Sports Ministry this week to aid relief efforts.

“The national team is for the whole country, and this is a national disaster so yes we will donate towards relief efforts.”

Wednesday June 3’s flood and fire disaster in the national capital is the country’s worse in recent times.
