A former Black Stars player George Arthur has passed on.

Persons familiar with the incident say he died at the Sunyani Government Hospital today, after a cardiac arrest.

Arthur was said to have been rushed to the Hospital – hours after he was seen all bubbly and healthy.

Sources say he collapsed while playing a game of Draughts with friends.

Known widely as ‘King Arthur’ he played for the Black Stars in the late 80s, and was also active for  Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Al Ahly, and Brong Ahafo United where he subsequently became CEO.
