The Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akufo Addo on Thursday (today) has taken steps to seal his candidature for the upcoming December 7 election by filing his nominations at the Electoral Commission headquarters in Accra.
The three-time Presidential candidate was accompanied by the Acting National Chairman, Freddy Blay, Chairman of the Council of Elders of the party, C.K Tedam, Acting General Secretary, John Boadu and a host of other leading members of the NPP.
The Electoral Commission has pegged the filing fee for the Presidential Nomination at GHC 50,000, an amount which has seen many of the smaller parties agitated claiming it is exorbitant.
Filing of nomination will close Friday, September 30, 2016.
