Even as members of the largest opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP) await the verdict of Wednesday’s presidential poll, scores of party faithfuls who have thronged the residence of their flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo are in an euphoric mood.
The supporters of the elephant party are confident of the elections going in their favour.
Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, running mate of the NPP’s presidential candidate, was captured exchanging pleasantries with supporters who had gathered at the residence of Nana Akufo-Addo in white apparel which is a sign of victory.
The main opposition Leader Nana Akufo-Addo has taken a commanding lead in the 2016 presidential elections.
Nana Addo’s total votes garnered nationwide gives him a statistical advantage ahead of main rival and incumbent President John Mahama. Mr. Akufo-Addo’s New Patriotic Party are also likely to get a Parliamentary majority.
Official results are yet to be declared by Ghana’s Electoral Commission.
