The Police have arrested two people in the Pru West Constituency of the Brong Ahafo Region for vandalism.

They are currently in police custody assisting with investigations.

The duo had gone on rampage vandalizing anything they came across after refusing to accept the outcome of last Wednesday’s presidential and parliamentary elections.

In the presidential race, the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) represented by President John Dramani Mahama polled 11,561 votes while the opposition New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo garnered 9,471 votes.

The candidates for the Convention People’s Party (CPP), National Democratic Party (NDP), Progressive People’s Party (PPP), and People’s National Convention (PNC) polled 38, 13, 171, and 54 votes respectively.

Jacob Osei Yeboah, the independent presidential candidate polled 11 votes.

In the parliamentary poll, the candidate for the NDC polled 10,740 votes while that of the NPP amassed 10,698 votes.

It is not clear which of the political parties the two were fighting for.

The Ghana Police Service in a tweet about incident said they are in full control over the situation in Pru West Constituency and urged the public to remain calm.
