The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has been summoned to the Flagstaff House following the recent attack of the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator.
Deep throat sources at the Presidency say his invitation has become necessary for him to explain the circumstances under which the pro-NPP vigilante group, “Delta Force” assaulted the Security Coordinator since he has links with some members of the Delta Force.
The leader of the Delta force, Kwadwo Bamba last week Friday led some well-built men of the group to attack the newly appointed Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator, George Agyei.
He was appointed by the President for the post but the members of the Delta Force claim they cannot work with Mr. Agyei because he is not from the region, hence he should be removed. The group wants one of their own, who is a leader among them, to be appointed for that position under contention.
Already, the Police in Kumasi have arrested five members of the Delta Force in connection with the assault including Kwadwo Fosu Bamba, who is the Commander of the group, Awal Sadat Abubakar, Abubakar Sadiq Abdul Hameed, Jamil Issah and Hamza Mohammed.
