Manager of Abraham Attah, Mawuko Kuadzi has described actor Prince David Osei’s ‘useless’ comments about the recent visit of Hollywood stars to Ghana as inappropriate.
The actor who is not enthused about the visit by some Hollywood stars to Ghana during the festive season was of the view that stars should have engaged stakeholders in the Ghanaian creative industry to share ideas.
But Kuadzi who finds his opinion unfortunate in a post on Facebook said Boris Kodjoe who has been made ambassador for the film industry has been able to bring back home all these Hollywood stars but the thirty (30) ambassadors for tourism have done nothing for the country since their unveiling.
According to him, the Hollywood actors who visited this country left here with Ghana on their lips and this will give opportunities to producers and directors to want to come and do business here and filmmakers in Ghana will get jobs to do.
Reacting to Prince David Osei’s creative art stakeholders not able to engage or share ideas with the Hollywood stars, Kuadzi reacted that “These Hollywood stars were here for vacation not to do workshops.”
It was therefore not surprising that the spotlight was on Ghana in December 2018, when top Hollywood stars including Boris Kodjoe, Idris Elba and top model Naomi Campbell among others, visited the country.

I’m disappointed at the words of this fine gentleman [Prince David Osei]. I expected more but this morning after watching the video I am like ??♂️??♂️??♂️. Did he call them “so-called” Hollywood stars? Oh my goodness. I want to leave it here….but no let me address few things he touched on.
It’s very unfortunate he called their visit useless. Actor Boris Kodjoe was made ambassador for the film industry and he was able to bring back home all these “so-called Hollywood stars”. What have the 30 ambassadors for tourism who were chosen done?
This individuals who visited this country left here with Ghana on their lips and this will attract more attention for more producers and directors to want to come and do business here and filmmakers in Ghana will get jobs to do.
This “so-called Hollywood stars” were here for vacation not to do workshops. Let’s have in mind that we only have a Tourism minister but not a Creative Arts minister. So we should not expect the minister to do anything for us. What was Ghana Actors Guild doing? Bro David, are you a member of the Guild? What is the “so-called guild” in Ghana doing?
Let’s look at the good in things than the negativity.
God bless the Ghana Film Industry, God bless Ghana. Happy 2019.
Actor David Osei told Citi TV, “I want to find out if the Ministry of Tourism is behind the Hollywood stars coming to Ghana, being in the creative arts and coming from the creative arts, I didn’t see when we got to interact with the so-called Hollywood stars who came to town.”
“I feel if it is a way of boosting tourism they are all in the creative arts industry, they are musicians and actors, so if they come to town we need to interact with them to share expertise and aside that we should have had a workshop. Of what benefit is it to us the actors and the musicians here in Ghana when at the end of the day we saw them at the beach having parties, popping champagne and drinking with some being enstooled as chiefs but we never got to engage them,” he said.
“We in the creative arts never got to meet them or interact with them so I don’t know the essence of the visit if it was for fun,” David added.
