The Parliamentary Committee on Communications is scheduled to meet the Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications, and subsequently the regulator – the National Communications Authority(NCA) on Thursday.

Earlier on Tuesday, the committee met with two Mobile Network Operators(MNOs)- MTN Ghana and Vodafone Ghana. Last week, it met with AirtelTigo Ghana as part of the committee’s engagements with service providers to ascertain issues affecting their service delivery.

Customers have been agitating over the poor services being rendered by the country’s telecommunication companies (telcos).

The poor services, mainly characterized by network congestion, Internet interruptions, disappearing data, and momo fraud among others have compelled users to vent their anger on social media lately.

Deputy Ranking Member on Parliament’s Communications Committee, Sam George is upbeat about the effect of the committee’s oversight roles in such engagements.

“It is our hope and believe that these engagements would lead to a better quality of service for our Constituents who are the consumers of these services,” he said.
