At least 8 mourners attending a funeral have died instantly, and seven others in critical condition after a gory accident occurred at Gomoa Potsin Junction in the Central Region, Saturday, August 26, 2023.
The accident involved a Daf Cargo Truck with the registration number AS 8740 S from Kasoa to Winneba and a Hyundai H100 with registration number GN 4475-19, loaded with mourners heading towards Kasoa.
Eyewitnesses told Kasapa News, Yaw Boagyan that a water tanker ahead of the Daf Cargo Truck attempted to branch from the main road and instead of the Cargo Truck slowing down, the driver rather veered into the lane of the Hyundai resulting in the collision.
The victims have been conveyed to Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for treatment while the body of the deceased have been deposited at Hospital’s Mortuary for autopsy.
The case has been reported to the Police for investigation.
