Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Alan Kyerematen has condemned the attack on his polling agent at the North East Region in the party’s Super Delegates Conference held on Saturday, August 26, 2023.

Ali Zakaria was attacked and assaulted after he raised issues with some voters who showed their ballot paper to the gathering after voting which is against the party’s rules governing the super delegates conference.

He was beaten by some unidentified delegates resulting in his eye swelling and sustaining bruises on his face. Ali Zakaria, was taken to the regional hospital for treatment.

Commenting on the incident further in a statement, Alan Kyerematen, a former Minister for Trade and Industry described it as “an indelible blot to the integrity of the internal democratic process within the NPP.”

He wished the victim a speedy recovery and God’s manifold blessings and assured him and his family of he (Alan’s) unwavering support for his wellbeing.

Alan Kyerematen further disclosed that “the A4P Campaign Coordination team is currently analysing the results of the Special Electoral College Election, and in the course of this week I will deliver a public broadcast on the way forward for my campaign.”

He reassured his teeming supporters, particularly those at the grassroot level that the battle is still the Lord’s, and that those who wait upon the Lord shall have their strength renewed.
