The Police Administration says it is much impressed with the general process of the conduct of Wednesday’s Presidential and Parliamentary polls.

In particular, the men and women in black uniform are appreciative of the generality of the Ghanaian public for the responsible manner they have conducted themselves since the polls opened at 07:00 GMT.

“With the exception of some recorded minor incidences such as disputes regarding the correct placement of ballot boxes, (which were mainly resolved through peaceful means) the process has generally been calm and orderly.”

“The Inspector-General of Police who toured some selected constituencies to observe proceedings expressed satisfaction of the entire development. Consistent reports from the various regions, divisions and districts also points to general calmness and smooth electoral process,” said the Police Administration in a statement signed by its Director of Public Affairs, Superintendent Cephas Arthur.

Such remarkable conducts, according to the Police Administration must be maintained by the voting public, especially, during the crucial moments of close of poll and subsequent counting, collation and declaration of results.

Meanwhile, the Administration has assured that their personnel on duty at polling stations, collation centers and those on patrols will continue to provide the needed security to ensure an orderly process.

It says any act that is likely to disrupt the process must be reported to the Police.
